What is Adult Day Health?
Adult day health is a program which provides nursing services to assure that health care needs are met. A social component focuses on providing a stimulating, nurturing environment for the older adult by providing an opportunity for clients to interact with peers, creating a sense of fulfillment for the client. The program also offers respite and support to the family and caregivers. Personal care services are also an important aspect of adult day health services.

Dunbar Intergenerational Center Adult Day Health Services provides quality, cost effective adult day health services to elders and their family members in Pulaski and surrounding counties. Dunbar Adult Day Health’s mission is to allow older persons to remain in their own homes.

Dunbar Adult Day Health Services Include:
- Skilled Nursing Care
- Personal Care
- Medication Assistance
- Delicious, nutritious meals and snacks
- Special Diets (if needed)
- Dynamic activities program with games, crafts, speakers, singing, dancing, outings into the community
- Wellness Education
- Self-Care Training
- Intergenerational activities with Head Start children
- Referrals to other LCCAA programs and community resources
Payment
Dunbar Adult Day Health’s primary payor source is the Medicaid Waiver Program. Self-pay and private insurance clients are accepted on a case-by-case basis.
