The Lake
Cumberland Migrant
Head Start Program
serves infants,
toddlers and
children with
disabilities of
migrant families
in a
developmentally
and culturally
appropriate
learning
environment.
LCCAA
participates
in the
Kentucky
Migrant Head
Start Network.
LCCAA’s
Migrant Head
Start Program
will serve 32
participants
in Pulaski and
Casey counties
with a
seasonal,
full-day
center-based
program. The
program
provides
comprehensive,
holistic, and
inclusive
services
including
medical,
dental, mental
health,
nutrition, and
education, as
well as a
practical
Partnering
with First
Steps. The
program has an
intensive
approach to
work WITH
parents to
improve
migrant
family, and
child health,
education and
development.
Eligibility –
Income-eligible
families
include
infants and
toddlers
between the
ages of zero
and five years
of age,
typically and
with
disabilities;
51% of the
family income
must be from
work in
agriculture
and the family
must have
moved once
within the
last
twenty-four
(24) months.
